《中国奇谭》陈廖宇:短视频和长片的区别就像小黄鱼和大黄鱼

“上海人都熟悉的两种鱼,一种叫小黄鱼;一种叫大黄鱼。不是小黄鱼长大了就叫大黄鱼,它们是两个不同品种的鱼。这是短视频和长片的区别。”

《中国奇谭》总导演陈廖宇在上海国际电影节“以超短影像探寻世界万象”论坛上以生动的比喻分享了他对于短视频的观点。在论坛上的对谈嘉宾还包括了《野蛮人入侵》导演陈翠梅、《暴雪将至》导演董越以及知名影评人藤井树等。

陈翠梅分享道电影最初就诞生于短片,最初的电影是由卢米埃尔兄弟拍摄的《火车到站》和《工厂大门》短片。这些短片在上映之初都是震撼人心的。

随着影像技术的发展,电影逐渐发展成为了当代观众熟悉的90分钟至120分钟的片长和三幕剧结构形式的影像。这种媒介的演变也是受到当时影视行业商业模式和人们观影习惯的变化所影响。

如今,随着短视频的兴起,人们的观影习惯发生了剧变。陈翠梅认为拍长片的人不应该再藐视短视频,她表示“我们有时候好像会把长片看得特别高高在上,但是十年后,人们还能在家里耐心地看完一个长片吗?现在已经有不少人在家边看电影边刷短视频。”

陈廖宇也持有相近的观点。他坦言在短视频这一新媒介刚出现时,他作为拥有科班背景的电影人其实对它是有偏见的。他曾一度认为“哪天我们这些科班出身的去拍 *** 短视频,那还不是‘降维打击’。” 不过,他现在发现并不是这么一回事。“短视频平台上播放量更高的视频创作者,几乎都不是科班出身。”

陈廖宇指出任何工具在刚发明时均掌握在少数人手里。拍电影曾经也是一种“特权”,需要拍摄者经历一定的训练并掌握一定的资源才能去拍。可是,“现在门槛没了,虽然我们会看到一些很差的作品,但是观众也有机会看到更多意想不到的表达方式,听到更多不同的声音。” 他也指出拍摄门槛降低后,或许能给有100余年历史的影视艺术带来新的机会和不同的发展可能性。

董越则表示尽管这些短视频能获得极高的播放量,但它们永远不能成为作品。董越指出短视频成为人们获取资讯的主要媒介,我们从短视频中获得了很大的信息量,但是很多的短视频并不是艺术作品。

他仍然鼓励拍摄短片的导演进入到长片的领域,“我认为拍摄短片是通往长片创作非常重要的一个台阶。只有经过长片的表达有机会获得真正意义上的关注,作品才可能有更大的爆发力。”

藤井树也认为电影院有一种“庄重感”。她指出电影在这个技术日新月异的时代有着重要的意义,“(我们)所有的时间可能被碎片化(信息)所填满,(我们)更需要那个梦幻般的、没有人打扰的、能够逃离现实的两个小时。”
